Compliance Updates

Decommission of Legacy User Interface

The legacy user interface has now been decommissioned. As a result, all users will now only have access to the new user interface, originally released in June 2024. The capability for users to change their user interface style or for subscribers to specify a user interface style for their users has now been permanently removed.

All documentation and help videos that referenced the legacy user interface have now been removed. Equivalent versions that reference the new user interface have replaced them.

Improved Support for Assessments with More than Six Considerations

Due to space constraints, assessments with more than six considerations only have their top six priority considerations printed. The full list of considerations is always shown when viewing the assessment in the user interface.

COSSH Control Sheet questions are now based on all the assessment’s considerations and not just those displayed. While this situation is very rare, the recent introduction of isocyanate as a new training consideration may increase the frequency with which it may occur in future.

Display Product Registration Number

The UK Health and Safety Executive have been focussed recently on pesticide compliance. To support customers using pesticides or biocides, the Product Registration Number (PRN) is now visible in Sypol for easier cross-referencing with external databases.

For materials categorised as pesticide or biocide, where it exists, the material’s PRN will be displayed when viewing either the material or the assessment. In either case it will be displayed in the Material tab. The PRN will also be displayed in the assessment’s exposure scenario sheet.

The PRN has been recorded in Sypol for several years but not previously displayed. This field will appear on pre-existing assessments and not just those written for new pesticides or biocides.
