Poor Quality SDS
Improving the communication around poor quality SDS to better informed of their impact on risk assessments.
Sypol has been updated to make it more visible when a material’s Safety Data Sheet has been identified as having poor quality.
An SDS is considered to be of poor quality when the EcoOnline consultant identifies one of the following issues with the document:
- Not in standard GHS 16 section format
- Contains references to CHIP hazard classifications in Section 2
- Only references CHIP or non-GHS hazard classifications in Section 3
- Missing information required for product classification
- Missing or unreadable pages
- Any other reason that may have an impact on the risk assessment.
Materials that are supported by other document types will never be considered to have a poor SDS quality.
List Pages
The SDS icon in any assessment or inventory list, including Browse All Materials, now reflects the SDS quality status.
Lists can also be filtered by setting the SDS quality field in the advanced search options.
Content Pages
When viewing an assessment or a material, the SDS quality is now shown in the header beside the risk and hazard levels.
Icon Key
The following table describes the icon displayed for each SDS status.
Reports
All reports that contain an SDS column now include a colour-coded SDS quality status in that field.
