Social performance
Human Capital & Diversity
Over the past year, EcoOnline has witnessed a remarkable stride towards gender equality and inclusivity within our workforce.
In 2022, women represented 39% of our total FTE’s, but by the end of 2023, this figure increased to an impressive 42%, marking a significant step towards narrowing the gender gap.
These positive developments underscore our commitment to fostering a diverse and equitable workplace culture, where everyone has equal opportunities to thrive and contribute to our shared success.
Our goal in EcoOnline is to leverage diversity, so that we can enhance performance, increase innovation and creativity, and achieve our sustainability goals together.
Building a More Inclusive EcoOnline
At EcoOnline, we're committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. While we're proud of our zero-tolerance discrimination policy and commitment to equal opportunity, we recognise there's room for improvement in gender diversity, especially in traditionally male-dominated areas like sales, product, and technology.
Throughout 2024, we'll actively address this by:
- Implementing targeted recruitment strategies to attract and hire more qualified women and underrepresented groups in tech.
- Creating a culture of inclusion where everyone feels empowered to thrive, regardless of gender or background.
By building a more diverse workforce, we'll not only enrich our company culture but also unlock the full potential of our talent pool.
The representation of women in management and leadership roles has been on a steady rise, increasing from 22% in 2020 to 40% in 2023.
"Our team embodies fantastic values that naturally enhance their behaviours, fuelling a sense of pride in everything we do. This pride is crucial as it steers us towards not only doing what's important but doing it right and excelling at it. At the core of our operations is a strong sense of accountability; we're deeply committed to our mission of protecting people and the planet. This commitment is evident not just in the products and services we deliver but also in how it shapes our internal culture, driving us to champion protection at every level.

Strengthening our social impact
Investing in our People: Delivered 12,451 training hours
In 2023, EcoOnline made substantial strides in enhancing our social impact through focused educational initiatives. Anchoring our efforts was our robust Learning and Development (L&D) program, which delivered a total of 12,451 training hours, averaging 14 hours per employee. This comprehensive training covered a variety of essential areas including health and wellbeing, financial wellness, sustainability practices, and compliance topics such as conduct, ethics, data protection, and GDPR.
A key highlight was our inaugural 'Leadership Summit' held in London, which convened our top 100 leaders. This event was not just a training opportunity but a pivotal moment for leadership development and strategic planning for the future. The summit emphasised networking, leadership growth, and aligning our organisational goals for 2024.
Moreover, our commitment to fostering a continuous learning environment was reinforced by celebrating Learning at Work Week, focusing on managing change and personal growth. Our leaders were also equipped with skills in coaching, providing feedback, and handling challenging conversations, significantly impacting our workplace culture.
Looking ahead to 2024, we are excited about the appointments of Saqi Sheikh as CHRO and Rachel Halliday as SVP of Learning and People Experience. Their leadership is expected to further strengthen our commitment to developing our workforce and enhancing our workplace environment.
Our ongoing dedication to training and development is integral to our mission, reflecting our commitment to empowering our employees and enriching their careers, thereby directly contributing to our overarching goal of sustainable social impact.
Safety First, Wellbeing Always: EcoOnline Prioritises People
EcoOnline takes pride in achieving zero work-related injuries in 2023, reflecting our unwavering commitment to employee safety. This achievement extends beyond our Stratford office's recent ISO 14001 and 45001 certifications – it's a blueprint for global implementation in 2024.
Recognicing the importance of well-being, we've launched the OneEco Global Health and Wellbeing Program. Piloted successfully, this program offers holistic support through mental health workshops, leadership guidance, and engaging activities like the Eco Strava club. It fosters not just individual health but also a supportive workplace community.
The program's global rollout in 2024 ensures every employee benefits from robust support systems. This aligns with our mission to embed a comprehensive program that empowers people to flourish in all aspects of life.
By integrating health and wellness initiatives across all locations, EcoOnline sets a standard for corporate well-being. This strategic expansion strengthens our ESG goals, enriches our culture, and reaffirms our core value – putting people first.
