About this report
Why we conducted this report
EcoOnline has previously conducted surveys in the North American region (USA and Canada) to assess workers’ attitudes and perceptions of health and safety in the workplace. The goal of these surveys was to identify key challenges and issues, as well as areas of opportunity on a diverse range of topics.
In addition to the North American survey, surveys were conducted in the UK and Ireland and in the Nordic countries.
Methodology
This report uses the North America cut of EcoOnline Market Insights 2026 survey data collected between January and February 2026.
The survey was conducted online using web panels, targeting the working population aged 18 to 65 years in the United States and Canada. In total, 1,267 responses were collected from North America: 841 from the USA (66% of the regional sample) and 426 from Canada (34%). The survey was conducted by Origo Group. Separate analyses were performed for each region alongside a global analysis incorporating data from the other surveyed regions.
Demographics
The North American respondent profile was broadly balanced by gender (51% men, 49% women) and age (36% aged 18–34, 34% aged 35–49, 30% aged 50–65). By role, 49% were employees, 20% middle managers, 12% CEOs, 12% team or unit managers, and 8% VP or C-level respondents.
The largest industry groups represented were retail (18%), healthcare (16%), construction (12%), manufacturing (12%), and transport and logistics (6%). The country-level distributions were closely aligned between the USA and Canada across all demographic dimensions.
