Viewpoints on the future of lone working
46% of UK executives think the number of lone workers in their organization will increase over the next 2-3 years. Most US executives predict a similar rise.
The bulk of this report has been concerned with the current state of lone working and how it has shifted since 2021. In this section, we are going to look at some of our respondents’ projections for the future. Over half of the executives surveyed felt that overall risks associated with lone working have increased in recent years, with 26% saying they have increased by a lot. This is similar to the US, where most of the executives surveyed said the risks have increased. In line with this, a new question in the 2024 questionnaire was ‘To what extent has the company increased its protective measures in the light of this increased risk?’.
