Building a business case proposal

Once you’ve gained insights into key audiences that you’ll need to engage with throughout the process, the next step is to build your business case.

Here are the key factors you’ll need to consider that will shape and build your proposal:

Resource


Who will be involved in the project and how other workstreams will factor into meeting deadlines.

Internal purchasing requirements


Make sure that your proposal meets your procurement team guidance and processes.

Budget


Determine who will be responsible for paying for the software and any current financial year considerations that may have an impact on affordability.

Internal IT requirements


Make sure that your proposal meets your IT team’s guidance, configuration of internal systems and maintenance support.

Price and ongoing costs


Clearly state all the costs, from upfront pricing to training and ongoing running costs.

Software user requirements


Show that your proposal has been influenced by key user group feedback and needs.

What to include in your business case:
